Emery lives a peaceful life in her small village waiting until her soldier father returns home from the war. However, instead of her father, the war itself arrives at her doorstep. Forced to flee, Emery and her young brother try to find their way to find a safe place while finding where the rest of their family went. Along the way, they run into Theo, a young soldier who is fleeing from the war also, but there's more to the story than what Theo tells Emery. Theo claims to know where Em's father is, and so they begin a journey together. Will Theo lead Emery to her father, or will she become just another pawn of war?
