Will Yong-Gi Zhang is in the 1st Marine Force Reconnaissance Unit, and he is writing in form of letters to his girlfriend, Etsuko Kato. Will is being deployed to the Middle East to fight in  battles against ISIS. The UN is in a struggle at the time. He is writing to her whenever he can, once a month. The problem is-- Etsuko is having troubles back in the US. Her family is bankrupt because of her father's failing company, Kato Motors. She becomes homeless. So, she is unable to receive the letters. At the same time Will is writing to her, she keeps a Diary of Her Life to pass by time. So, she lives quietly, relying on her diary to express her thoughts.

The war against ISIS is finished. Will is renowned on the television, because of a heroic act. Etsuko forgets his face, but she remembers his name-- Will Zhang. She pleads to the news company to travel over to the battlefield aftermath to film a documentary-- just to see him again.
