"And if you are...?"
"If I'm what?"
"Pardon, hallucinating." The girl's slightly askew jaw and lifted brow gave her a genuine look of mischief despite her proper speech and formal look. "What's the harm done. I'd like to think I'm good company. And you wouldn't have to share much." She gave a grin, kicking her feet up above the table, no not on, just above. Then pretended to crank her crossed feet down slowly like a recliner chair. The very sight of it was some twisted version of magical. Like it was right out of a dream.
"It would be bad. It's not right." Lauren paused. "It's not real."
"Just because it's real doesn't mean it's right. And just because it isn't real doesn't mean it isn't right." Lauren sat there, phone loose in her hand next to her ear as she grinned a little in awe and confusion at the mysterious 'hallucination'.
"But is it crazy?"
"I suppose it's up to you whether it is or not."
