Kaia and Kane are twins, born to the country of Varuna, in which Kaia is the next in line empress. However Varuna has entered an unexpected war with the Kawi empire, which has steadily been growing in both influence and military power in the last twenty years. As a precaution the current empress of Varuna, Kaia and Kane's mother, has sent them to the far of province of Xia, where they can nourish they're natural as well as latent magic in a safe environment.
The first chapter is a quick introduction to the characters at age twelve.
For the rest of this book, they will be sixteen years old.
