15 year old Dare Fowl is amid the wilderness on the edges of Boston, Massachusetts and occasionally has to snake her way back through the metro and suburbs. Crowded streets and wanted posters with her face on them have her hiding from everyone as she continues her escape from the city. She doesn't really have a specific destination in mind; just as long as it is far away from here.
