Eight-Hundred years ago.
An English Knight kneels against his sword, dying from the two Saracen arrows protruding from his back. When his fellow knights arrive he points to an empty water skin laying on the desert floor. When he sees that the water skin is in safe hands the knight pitches forward in a cloud of sand; and disappears.

The present day.
A Church of England vicar steals a family heirloom. With it he plans to become the pre-eminent religious leader on Earth and save the World from it's sins. To achieve this he prepared to double-cross the secret society that he belongs to and abandon his live-in lover. He is also willing to kill.

Deep in the New Forest a man awakes in an unmarked grave. It is not the first time but he feels that this time something is different. He has an ominous sense of loss and of imminent danger. For the first time in centuries he has made a mistake.

Which has yet to die in this "post-modern" century, despite the "conventional" descent. Sometimes you meet someone, and it's so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you're in love or you're partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. You don't know if that's a mere coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely is something meant to happen. Something like that happened to these two wounded souls, who were walking on a lost path, until they both collided, as if the universe made them lose their way just for them to meet, because they knew the way to each other's right path. They had to have each other to reach their destination. Their lives were sealed together and souls were intertwined. Shaheer Junejo didn't expect the intoxicating beauty to be the key to his revenge game, and Gule Shah didn't know the hunky beast was holding onto her for a completely different plot twist, not for the delusional reason she thought to be love.

Iris Theren has grown up in a small town near the Niam River her entire life. Composed of under 200 people, you'd think residents would know who she was, but her parents have made that impossible, going so far as to not even report her birth when it occurred twenty-three years ago. Cetus and Cassiopeia Theren at one point imagined themselves to be esteemed members of the court, but they overheard whispered questions regarding their loyalties to the crown. Thus, they left Remalna-city years before Iris was born. Their resentment and dislike of the Renselaeus family traveled with them. In their minds, it was the Renselaeuses who caused their fall from "grace" and "good-standing." Only a minor detail that no one truly liked them in the first place. From the moment they left Remalna-city--from the moment Vidanric Renselaeus ascended to the throne with his wife, Meliara Astiar, at his side--they quietly plotted their revenge. Alaraec Renselaeus, firstborn of Mel and Danric and crown prince of Remalna, has now seen twenty-four name days. The exact year the prince is traditionally determined to be old enough to take up some of his royal duties...including finding a potential bride. And thus Cetus and Cassie perceive the moment to strike has finally arrived. NOTE: The setting, history, a couple of the characters, and some of the concepts in this particular story are inspired by Sherwood Smith's novels Crown Duel and Court Duel. One Day More (working title) occurs twenty-five years AFTER the conclusion of Court Duel, basically an alternate future outside of Smith's Remalna's Children novellas.

Gideon Saint is usually in trouble. It's his pastime to get involved in epic quests throughout history, namely the Middle Ages. Once again, he's run afoul of the Templars, and ancient organization of Wizards. This time, they are offering him the chance to right old wrongs, by retrieving a mysterious cursed blade. 1403 awaits. Sequel Series to Last Knights of Cambia series, and the Days of the Dead trilogy, ergo it contains spoilers for those. Similar narrative style and tone, that is if you want English history explained like Lemony Snicket, then this is for you. Ahem. Living people die, dead people live. Swords. Epic Battles. Mysterious riddles. Coded messages. True love. Traitors. Murder. Found families. Yes, Henry V is here and he is awesome. Did we mention swords? Tombs are described in loving detail. People are not. Yes you may learn something about the battle of Shrewsberry but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Content/Trigger Warning: A battle is depicted at length, relatively graphic blood/gore associated with that. A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality. Catholicism is discussed. All disturbing scenes are usually forewarned, that is it's clear what is going to happen. Some brief peril. Some light disturbing humor relating to murder. PG-13 quality stuff, be aware of your mental state and seek support as needed.
