Eight-Hundred years ago.
An English Knight kneels against his sword, dying from the two Saracen arrows protruding from his back. When his fellow knights arrive he points to an empty water skin laying on the desert floor. When he sees that the water skin is in safe hands the knight pitches forward in a cloud of sand; and disappears.

The present day.
A Church of England vicar steals a family heirloom. With it he plans to become the pre-eminent  religious leader on Earth and save the World from it's sins. To achieve this he prepared to double-cross the secret society that he belongs to and abandon his live-in lover. He is also willing to kill.

Deep in the New Forest a man awakes in an unmarked grave. It is not the first time but he feels that this time something is different. He has an ominous sense of loss and of imminent danger. For the first time in centuries he has made a mistake.

Days of the Dead Book 2: The Beggar's Tomb by kullman

Magic, betrayal, murder attempts, dragons. It's situation normal in 1439. As always, this is historical revisionist fiction. It is book 2 in the 'Days of the Dead' Trilogy. Trigger/Content Warning: some profanity throughout. Mild innuendos. A main character's death is discussed at length. Troubled childhood/abuse is discussed. A character with autism is tortured by memories of being put in restraints. The final chapter contains extremely graphic violence and disturbing imagery that may be upsetting to some readers.

Gideon Saint has gone missing. His friends are frantically searching for him, while he lays trapped, deep in a mountain, prisoner of some unknown ancient wizard. If you have not read "Last Knights of Cambia" Books 1,2, or 3, do enjoy them first as this contains spoilers for those books. Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is still here and he's awesome despite being an anti-hero at best. Found families. Sword fights. Everybody is vaguely gay, weapons are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Trigger/Content Warning: Fantasy violence, brief peril. Characters mention having crushes, no major romance. A man and his wife briefly appear to flirt in conversation. It's briefly implied two unmarried characters have spent the night in the same room. It's briefly speculated a married person is having an affair.

The Last Knights of Cambria Book 1: Echoes of Gideon by kullman

Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Anything is better than listening to his parents argue or sitting alone in his room doing research no one but him seems to care about. A chance encounter with a magical ring leaves him transported to an alternate version of ancient Wales, or as it was sometimes called, Cambria. 1432 Wales, to be exact. Here magic is the most powerful weapon of all as kings vie for power. Good thing Gideon's teleportation from the present has also left him with the ability to use magic, and he's quickly regarded as a powerful wizard. In this timeline, Wales maintained it's independence, but that's about to change. Henry V is on the throne of the England, and the greatest warrior king England has ever had has set his sights on Wales. Can Gideon help save his newfound friends and master his new powers, while living a double life in the 21st century? Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.

This beautiful doll is your Achilles heel man. And you won't like it, she won't like it, but I am going to enjoy this next part." Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here. I regain my composure and look at him again. That's when he says something that makes my blood run cold. "Run."
