Alice Saint-Valeri only had one living family member left, her father. The rest of her family died of various causes. Her mother was a Necromancer and was eventually killed because of the way she used her magic, as it was often called in the middle ages.

When Alice's father died due to murder she was absolutely heartbroken. She couldn't wait for the town's sheriff to catch the murderer. After weeks of the sheriff searching for answers he gives up finding no evidence to point him to who the murderer was. When the news got to Alice she mulled over the thought of going to her deceased mother's trainer for lessons on becoming a Necromancer. Finally she decides this is what she must do if she wishes for the killer to be caught.
