13 year old, Avery Williams is just an average girl.
It's been three years since she's been in the amazing New York City, and has come to visit her cousin, Katy, and her Aunt Claire for the whole summer.
Avery is the tomboy though. After leaving her baseball team in Boston, she is determined to join one of the teams in New York. She is almost confident she can show the coach and the boy her impeccable skill. The boys are shocked by her moves on the field, and the coach gladly lets her on the team. But can a little romance on the team distract her?
Though, Avery does have a soft side. Ever since her father died, she has taken on photography. Her father was a famous photographer, and inspired young Avery the way of the camera. Whenever she takes a picture, she keeps it.
But when the summer ends, something happens, and poor Avery Williams has every reminder of it, on her camera.
Ella is falling apart trying to live a "perfect" high school life. Then she meets Ren, who can see past her scars. Suddenly perfection isn't her only option.
