Should one mistake really define who you are?
Sometimes life hits you in more than one way and the expectations of others can be degrading. Often it's the pride of an excelled reputation that clouds the ones you love and their judgement, causing them to make irrational decisions. Maybe it's a cultural thing or maybe it's the fear of being sent to hell.
But I know one things for sure,
it's the fear of disappointment that drives one to insanity...
Eliza's life takes a 180 degree turn as the worst thing that could ever happen to any girl, happens to her. Even in her most nadir state, the ones she loves and need the most, turn their backs on her. Allegedly, forcing her to struggle on her own.
When all else is lost, suicide seems to be her last hope.
But in the religion she follows, suicide is haram, (forbidden).
However, what is a girl to do? Taking care of another seems hardly practical when she can barely look after herself.
This is a coming of age story in which a young girl fights for survival in the harsh cruel world we live in.
But is it always that bad? For surely, in the darkest of days; the Stars shine the most bright.
