When a Purge by the name of Penny Ratsford turns 15, she explores the planet Earth with her sister Lucy, best friend Roxie, and boyfriend Leo. Although on her encounter to Earth, her memories become scattered, and meets a "new" friend named Lucas, who is HUMAN! Learning of this, Leo becomes jealous of Penny's friend and plots revenge. It's up to Penny, Roxie, Lucy and others to save him.

Countries and cities like China and New York were blown clean off the map leaving radio active waste in its place. Governments were destroyed and humanity was left to build its self back up. Scientists have developed technology in which slower vehicles can be powered by plant waste. Solar, wind, and hydra technology has been further developed although nothing works the same.
