Audrey Hawthorne has the worst memory ever.

She knows that her move to the small city of Illena is not the first time she's had to switch schools, but she can't remember where they lived before. She knows a lot of historical trivia, and maybe even a bit of the future, but she doesn't know how. And she knows that she has met Patrick Gillingham before, but she can't say where.

So when hell breaks loose, Audrey decides that it's time her mother Mara comes clean. However, when she learns the shocking truth, she comes to understand that the secrets of her past are far more dangerous than the apocalypse beginning outside her door.
