"we will be introducing a new method of punishment for crime in the form of a game. This game is modelled on a chess board, but with many more exciting outcomes." In the magical town of Goldburn, the government has introduced a new form of punishment for crime. A daughter of a convicted criminal will be chosen to become part of a dangerous chess-like game in the place of a pawn. Eva Woodbury is the daughter of a thief, and when her name is chosen to be part of the very first ‘summoner’ game, her life is changed forever. Eva is forced to face haunting memories from her past while battling newly found enemies. Eva will never be the same again.
