"Just keep prying for him. Things will get better, I promise." I wish what dad had told me was true but it wasn't. My brother Anthony had been dealing with some really deep depression and I never thought he oils get out of it... And he didn't. A few weeks later mom and dad came up to me with the saddest looks on their faces. "Anthony is..." My mom had to pause from all of the tears in her eyes, but she didn't need to say anything else. I got the point. They were both in tears but I just sucked up my guilt and disappointment... And ran out of the house.

For as long as I could remember vampires ruled other humans. I found it that way and I believed that was an injustice. Not like I could do much about it. Once I turned of age, I would be sold as a blood slave, a pet and my life would possibly end. I never liked these creatures to begin with. Adding salt to injury I was bought by a royal vampire, the prince. I cursed the day I was born. Maybe not all vampires were the same, but for humans that was just wishful thinking.
