Why would a child get passed down from one junkie to another? Layne was friends with Kurt, but when Kurt passed away, he couldn't understand why he was on the will. He couldn't understand why he was given joint custody to take care of his daughter, Lily.
It doesn't take very long for Layne to discover that Lily suffers. After a few years, he and his band mates discover her suffering in another way. How long will it take before his demons catch up with him? Between his pain and hers, who is saving who? Layne needs Lily as much as Lily needs Layne.
Tragedy strikes them both. Instead of pulling everyone together, it pulls them apart.
At a young age, she finds passion in the music industry. It soothes her pains and makes her losses seem like they don't exist.
Bruno knew very little about Lily. He used to play an occasional Nirvana cover before he got famous. Besides that, all he can go by is what the media has said about her father. As he gets to know her, Bruno slowly unravels the pain she's been hiding from the media and even people she's close to. He learns more and more about her as he endures his own struggles.

Morticia Deal is the daughter of Mick Mars, born in 1967. Throughout her childhood, Tish wasn't really allowed much time with her father. Once she was a little older, she would call her dad and tell him about everything that was going on at home. Her father wanted to help her, but he didn't have a steady home or place for her to stay. When Tish was sixteen, her mother kicked her out after a fight with her step-father. The man was horrible, and Tish wasn't going to let him get away with it. Anyway, she contacted her father and met up with him for a day, before she moved herself to Seattle. She stayed there for years, where she later met her husband Kurt. She and Kurt met when he broke up with his girlfriend, Courtney. Kurt was in a bad place, and she was there for him. She and Kurt married a year later, and a year after that, she had a little boy. Their happiness didn't last long, because on April 8th of 1994, Kurt was found deceased, and Tish was devastated. He had died on the 5th, and she hadn't even known he was gone, because he had disappeared a couple of days before saying he needed to clear his head. The first person she called was her father, and he flew her straight out to where he was staying. He wanted her to stay with him, because he felt that she was too emotionally unstable to be on her own with her child. He wanted to protect them and make them feel better, even though his health was declining, and the band seemed to be failing. Emotions and family troubles was all over the place, but Mick tried his best to give his daughter and grandson a stable living environment. She was feeling lost, and he understood that she needed time to heal and become the girl she was before. Skwisgaar is forced to face a demon from his past while Toki's mental state declines rapidly - all whilst trying to write and record the new album. The pair undertake seperate yet intertwined emotional journeys to understand their hate for themselves, and each other. Skwisgaar Swigelf - Rockstar. That's the only Skwisgaar Swigelf the fans, the label or even his bandmates will ever see. Yet somehow Toki manages to slip through the wall he puts up around his heart; which both terrifies Skwisgaar and totally pisses him off. After Toki has a brush with death, Skwisgaar is left confused about his feelings towards him; wanting him close but continuing to push him away. Toki also starts to realise that his feelings towards Skwisgaar are stronger than he wants to admit; espeially his hatred for him. After the death of his father, Toki's mental state takes a nose-dive as his christian teachings conflict with his feelings towards Skwisgaar and the way he acts upon them.
