One year after the Joker killed the second Robin (Jason Todd), Bruce has been struggling with guilt and depression even questioning his methods. The Joker has been once again locked up in the bowels of Arkham Asylum and Gotham's known relative peace until an unexpected assault on the asylum releases the Joker to resume his reign of terror. Meanwhile during that period of time Amanda Waller had finally finished assembling 
her team of outcasts to prevent such incidents from occurring. The Suicide Squad, led by Floyd Lawton, have a new mission: kill the Joker. Batman finds himself in a race against time to finally have the Joker answer for his crimes and his insult to the Bat Family.
