My Accidental Yokai Gudie
This is the story of a 21-year-old university student whose lifelong dream of visiting Japan finally comes true. After meticulously planning every detail, his trip to the bustling cities of Tokyo and Kyoto goes exactly as imagined. But an impulsive detour to the serene, traditional town of Sakuragaoka leads to a bizarre accident. Suddenly, he can see them: yokai, the fantastical spirits and monsters of Japanese folklore. What starts with humorous encounters with mischievous household spirits quickly escalates into brushes with truly dangerous entities. Armed with his sketchbook and a newfound, unsettling sight, he begins to meticulously document these hidden beings. His unique perspective catches the eye of Hana, a local university student, and their shared fascination with the unseen world blossoms into a collaboration on a book - and perhaps something more. It's a whimsical, heartfelt journey of discovery, blending modern slice-of-life charm with ancient Japanese mysticism.
