Mia Wells always considered herself as cursed.
Maybe not in a strictly stick shift witchcraft kind of way but there was certainly something off with her and - honestly? She didn't mind.
Unwanted by her biological parents and later orphaned by her adoptive family, Mia understood at an early age it was her against the world. Her story changed with the sudden appearance of her new guardian: her maternal grandfather, Samuel Wells - a retired police officer who took the five-year-old girl all the way to England, under his wing, only to toughen her up. And so she did.
Because Mia wasn't just cursed, she was incredibly gifted.
Cunning, witty and extremely intuitive, she learned fast and raised herself up just fine, ignoring completely the first years of her life and never asking questions. It sure granted her a couple of flaws, but, hey, all diamonds were once in the rough.
And just when Samuel decided it was time for her to return where she left, his heart stopped - leaving a troubled Mia with sixteen years old, a ticket to Beacon Hills, California and a lifetime of questions.
Saddened and thankful to the core, for all the effort he had made to give her the new start she craved for, Mia came back to settle in her home-town - where she would not only unravel herself but mostly, the inexplicable phenomenons that lied in that mysterious town.
