“You are just not him.”
 “But I am.”
The Doctor looked at the table where our hands almost touched. We could feel the electricity of each other’s hands against our owns, but did not want to cross it to feel the warmth. We both looked at the same fingers. He slowly moved them towards mine, but I pulled them away and looked at the view outside the window.
“How can I let you know I am him, really,” he asked me. I could feel his eyes on my face but I waited before I looked at him.
“I don’t know,” I told him honestly. When I looked in his eyes I could him. I looked in those eyes so many times before. It had nothing to do with colour nor had it with shape, it was the pain and the lost in it. The way he looked when he knew he ruined something and he did not know if it would be good again.
This Doctor felt like the old Doctor. He looked like the old Doctor. He even smelled like the old Doctor. But he just was not him. He could never be him. He was the time traveller and this man in front of me was just… a man with one heart. He was human.

The Doctor and Rose Tyler in the parallel universe. This description is not what it is going to be, though.
