When Justine DeMont's Mom told her that she is sending her across the country to live with her Dad a week before her senior year, she thought she was dreaming. Is she really escaping the hell she lives in? A place where she is bullied by her classmates and neglected and abused by her mom. Hopefully she can coast below the radar at her new school, maybe even make a friend. When she arrives in Bentley she is overwhelmed with how happy her Dad is to have her live with him. She was always told that her Dad left because he didn't want her. She soon becomes friends with Ferg, her next door neighbor. He attaches himself to her hip for the last few days until school. She finds herself finally feeling like she could actually be happy here. Then school starts. It's like her whole world changes in an instant.
