Cassie Mullins is selected for the After Lifers program, where the dead are transported back to earth for one more round of living. She died too young to properly earn her pass to the heavens, and so she’s paired with Mac for training, and given another chance to prove her worthiness of eternity.
Mac is another After Lifer, and questionable mentor, who’s not interested in earning himself a ride back upstairs. He embraces the punishment he’s earned after the ‘end times’. Mac’s only helping the new, naïve soul as far as he must to show face.
