Krittika hung her head low as her teacher chided her. Bharat Sir was the only teacher she respected and listened to. But today he seemed different...almost pained.
"Please, I request you.", he said and dismissed her. She was going to walk out when she heard the almost inaudible mutterings, " You are our saviour. Please awake!" "You are the chosen one, awake!". She turned back and was scared to see the tears in his eyes. He had bent down and was touching the ground ,reverently, where she had stood. Frightened, she ran away.
