You know that one kid in your grade that stands by themselves everyday, has no friends, no social life at all, the one that's the easiest to laugh at, the one the popular clique goes out of their way more to embarrass, well that's me, Emma Ryan, and I'm only in the fourth grade. On top of this, I'm not going to lie but I'm pretty good at math and I'm also very creative and artsy, yep, I'm a nerd.

Meet Emma Ryan, in the fourth grade she's well, considered a nobody. No fancy clothes, no sober parents, no friends. That is until she meets Jake Parker. Fast forward a couple of years and they are seniors in high school. Jake is the player, quarterback and unmistakably the hottest guy at their school. When Emma's past comes back to haunt her she needs Jake but does Jake still need her? Sworn to a promise, a bond of forever friendship, how long will it last before all that's left is what used to be.

Meet Alyssa Bent, she's a nerd. But not your typical one. She likes to read, but her world doesn't totally revolve around books. She's not shy nor does she stutter when someone tries to corner her. She can stand up to anyone provided it doesn't involve attention. Attention is the only thing that scares her, and like always, there's a reason behind it. Maintaining a balance of grades and producing comebacks with sarcasm dripping from each word isn't the only talent she possesses. Enter Aaron Pelt, the most popular boy at Gradient High. Girls fawn over him. Well, who wouldn't? He's the star soccer player, after all. With the looks no less than a model, he has no problem maintaining his status on the social ladder. He maintains a cool aura around him all the time. They both go to Gradient High, a school that is divided into two social groups: the popular ones and the nerds. The popular ones are the wealthy snobs and the nerds are the ones who practically are their slaves. At Gradient High, these two groups can never get along! Like Ever! But who knew that the most popular guy and the nerd would actually be best friends? That's right! Alyssa and Aaron have been best friends since their diaper days. But at school, they are forced not to acknowledge each other's presence because if they did, Aaron's reputation might suffer and Alyssa may be subjected to something she hates the most: attention. While Aaron may not know, the reason why Alyssa hates attention might be even more than she lets him believe. A reason that might even force her to throw away her future dream. So will Aaron be able to break through the walls and push her out even when he has the pressure of popularity and the school status weighing him down? Get ready to expect the unexpected. Brody's Girl

51 parts Complete

A shy high school senior jock and a closed-off girl battling an immune disorder fake a relationship to win a social media contest. Being shy isn't easy, especially when you're the new kid at school. Scotts Valley's football program is subpar compared to my last school's team, but the starters underestimate my all-conference skills. Girls eye me like fresh meat. Mom's cooking has the fire department on speed dial, and her game cheering makes me want to crawl under the bleachers. In the middle of all this stress, I'm still so tongue-tied that I can't talk to anyone. Scotts Valley High's 'Golden Couple' competition-which I want no part of-grates my nerves. I want to play football and baseball, then continue whatever gets me a college scholarship. Only Paige treats me as a normal person. People at school say she's quiet and closed-off, but she's nice to me. She's hiding her awesome self under baggy clothes and the brightest, pinkest hair I've ever seen. I don't understand why she's picked on, and I don't like it. Her medical bills are mounting, so I'm doing something about it. Paige and I pretend to date to remove ourselves from the rumor mill and win the Golden Couple's cash prize. What I don't expect is to catch feelings for my 'first trust,' the first friend I can open up to and be myself around...my girl Paige.
