Once every hundred years the Sacred Tree of the small kingdom of Oumori selects a pure soul, a Hikari, to become host to its core of light.
Planted by the Goddess Yuwa, to protect the holy land she created by hand. She bound the tree's core, its lifeforce, to a pure soul of man.
As the Hikari, time no longer has an effect, they are bound body and soul to the tree and the kingdom. When the tree is weakened or the kingdom is becoming too corrupt, the Hikari will fall ill. The Hikari will live as long as 100 years before their fated time comes and they can ascend to the Heavens.

Naru is the youngest child of Oumori's 49th Queen. At 10 years old he is chosen by the sacred tree to become the Hikari when the previous Hikari ascends to heaven.All Rights Reserved
