Dreams.... Dreams are like a slip of the subconscious. A peek at what's hidden, what's supposed to be forgotten and never again remembered. But what if these dreams become more real than they're supposed to? What if they begin to distort reality? For 17 year old Aainaa Stephens, these dreams are a normal occurrence. She's used to remembering all that she's dreamt. But when these dreams become more real, when she starts to feel these dreams, Aainaa is not so sure about them anymore. What are these and what are they trying to tell her? And when the supposedly "non existing dream boy", Ian Arden, shows up at her high school, Aaina is left with hundreds of questions to which she has no answers. Ever wonder where your dreams go when you wake? Imagine if they drifted off, coalescing with the dreams of others to create a constantly shifting realm of imagination and memories. That is the realm that Shade the Scarecrow and Cole the Wanderer set off to explore. What begins as a simple research expedition escalates into a fight for survival and revelation. ---------------------------------- This is a work based on a D&D campaign I ran with my friends for 4 years (though it is not a "campaign journal"). It's part of a series of novellas I wrote for my players to let them know what their characters are up to. Naturally this means that it was written with the intent that the reader was already familiar with the world. I have done my best to adapt the story for new readers and included footnotes for lore that does not outright speak for itself. A collection of stories based of my dreams and nightmares. Recently I've been having vivid dreams and nightmares that seems recurring or just memorable. Either caused by my anxiety or troubles that I don't acknowledge. People always say that there's meaning behind dreams and I'm here to figure out what it means or just to share an interesting tale. Some people have wacky dreams but for some reason mine seems to be pretty creative and straight forward that's good enough to write a story for. All my life, I lived in a normal neighborhood, normal friends, normal family, but then this dream started, same event every night that got me thinking if I ever experienced a trauma, or a hidden desire. But few tell that dreams come from real experience unknown consciously, but the mind can only sort of remind you that it happened by making you dream it...
