Challenging becomes death defying when the queen to be becomes wrapped up in a revenge feud. There was a game to be played, and she better learn how to win or risk losing her own head.

Unfortunately losing came more natural to her. Even more unfortunate was the guy that kissed her, and made her realize that before the game had even started she'd lose. He came into her life like a storm, powerful and breathtaking, causing her to feel like maybe it would be okay maybe all hope wasn't lost. He put her back together, but the deadly feud could rip her apart all over again.

Could she juggle this handsome suitor along with her responsibilities to her kingdom?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I spent a lifetime hurting for you.
I waited an eternity to move on from you.
Now that I'm me.
Now that I'm strong again.

You come into my life.
My hands felt strong.
Seeing you smile, I was okay.

But once you kissed me.
The game has started again.
And I already lost again.

There are worse things than death. ___ "What is wrong with you?" I seethed. She had my back against the wall, pinning me down so I couldn't move. She was much stronger than me, even when I used my strength to get out of her embrace. I held her gaze and I knew that she was gone. There wasn't an ounce of goodness left in her body. She laughed at my question. Of course, I knew what was wrong with her. But I have to find a way to get her back. "What is wrong with me? Ha, nothing sweetheart." she told me with a smile on her face. "I'm just having a little fun." "Yeah, and fun for you is killing innocents," I growled. "Oh, I hate to say this to you but they aren't all innocent." I finally broke free of her and I dropped her to the floor. I held her down with both arms while I was on top of her. All she did was give me a smile. An eerie smile that made a shiver run down my spine. "I should kill you for what you've done," I whispered. "I should make you pay." "Oh, but Sebastian, you won't," she said. "You know why? Because at the end of the day I'm still me, and you will never hurt me, will you?" I hated that she was right. I couldn't kill her. My mind told me that it would be the best to do it but my heart told me otherwise. I mentally cursed at myself for letting this happen to her. "Elora, I know you're still in there." I said. She was still on the ground, but she was not resisting which seemed odd. "She died a long time ago," she said finally. "Alongside her love for you." ___ Book Two in the "From Death to Life" Trilogy #13 in Bloodlust

✨ First In The Renée Series ✨ Our story started with a million ugly secrets and a million fake smiles. Our story got complicated fast, baby; Lickety-split, the ugly secrets began to blur out our million fake smiles. The story that runs in our blood started when the blood drew out our vines. It got hazy when I ran from my tragedies. I had my ghost to prove how bad it got back in the city of gloom and rain. My nightmares reminded me of the catastrophes. I have their blood staining my skin till the end of time. Your blood will stain those walls till the end of time. He has your blood marking his fingertips until his ugly smiles fall six feet underground. The stars took in each moment of us before your heart bashed against your ribcage. They disappeared when our world slipped from our clutch. I swore on those stars that I wouldn't let them take your life like they did the last time. And, the story got out-of-focus and complex in the end. So, we didn't fight; We dropped our swords and our lives and slipped into new galaxies- --Alone. I ran from our tragedy. You let our tragedy slip from your mind. Now we both are back at square one. New million ugly secrets. New fake smiles. Does our story continue or is it at its end? I sit under the same stars and read our story. 'Cause our story holds more of our truth than our million fake smiles, darlin'. This story was only the beginning of our complicated fight to find the broken pieces of the broken soul that we kept in our back pockets. And, I hope you read it, darling.
