Sample Poem #1:
Lorelei
(Lorelei is derived from a legend similar to that of a siren or mermaid. The myth tells of a maiden who lived on a rock in the Rhine River. Her song lured fishermen.)

Deep in the mist an aria is hidden

The Rhine's lilting voice serenades the forbidden

Dripping locks of hair and a blanket of scales

Vanish as lilies and foam cover her trail

Jason
(Jason originates with a word meaning "healer".)

Neither wounds nor aching bones should go unnoticed

Still, healing of another kind must come into focus

There are remedies of herbs or a doctor's inspections

But spare a moment of ease to make calm reflections
