Sylvia Okenji expected her final year of school to go like any other; surviving her classes, making memories with her friends, and not ripping her tangled hair out from stress over exams.

But when her eighteenth birthday ends with Sylvia disappearing for two days without explanation, she is grounded for the rest of the year, unable to go back to the place she fled to; Siren Bay.

Only weeks away from her deadline, the temptation becomes too much. In the height of Australian summer, she had to go back to the alcove around the cliff's edge, where she discovered there was more to life than school, textbooks, and its exams.

There were real legends out there as well. Legends with glowing tails, powers one could only dream about, and bright eyes filled with hope that she would be the one to unlock their chains. Sylvia just wished she wasn't too late - and she wasn't about to make a mistake she couldn't undo.

Be swept away in this Australian set story with sassy mermen, fierce mermaids, and unrelenting sirens - and fall in love with the legend of Siren Bay.

Final book in the "Pearl and Pale series." Pale can't believe it's been over 3 years since she became a mermaid. She has her best friend Pearl, and a boyfriend. She also turns out to be part of the royal family, which makes her Queen of the Sea. Over the years Pearl and Pale have been through many adventures such as protecting the kingdom from fishermen, being captured by a fisherman and his son and rescuing an infant from a bus that fell off the bridge. But, the adventure this time might be the scariest one yet. When Pearl goes exploring and accidentally cuts herself on a strange rock, she suddenly finds herself human. But, the only problem is, Pearl can't breath underwater. The only way to solve the problem is to go where no mermaid has gone before- On land. PG-13 for some cussing but not a lot. The worst romantic scene is making out.
