Carrie Violet is anything but the normal. During school, she's the little preppy girl everybody wants to be or be with. But at home it's a different story. She's scared to even make a noise. After her mom and brother died in an accident four years ago, her dad became an alcoholic. Carrie has never told anybody because her father promised he'd find her and kill her.

Daniel Collin is the bad boy of the school. Typical dude, everybody stays away from him, well except his brothers. Cody, Justin, Sam, and Jace. Their mom was murdered by their dad when Daniel was only 10, and his dad got killed by a gang. Of course, the boys never liked their dad after he killed their mom, so it didn't matter if he died or not. Daniel runs into Carrie, literally, and can not seem to get her out of his mind. Everything changes the night he picks her up off the sidewalk.
