The lemniscates are a clan of immortals existing since the dawn of time. The only condition to be a part of it is to be immortal. Simple. There are vampires, cursed, damned, drug addicts, scholars and some powerful witches amongst the most representatives. Each one of them has their own goals and agendas.
No matter how they earn their immortality, the only two rules that exist require they have to protect their secret and especially control its spread. Losing control, would be to break the second rule and would result in the total eradication of the breed.
Everything went fine when a simultaneous out of proportion attack against the Paradise and Hell occured. Why did it happen? Who did it? This is definitely a threat. One that must be dealt with.
The story happens in our world. Well kinda. Chapters focus on pieces of conversations between characters and the story is told through that. It is part of an event greater universe that I created. I have written many stories but never published them.
This is my first work but I deliberately mention them as an introduction for later. The story is told through many characters cause I don't believe in one character doing all the work and saving the universe all by himself. This is a group effort.
I'm trying English. I know it's not perfect. Not my first language but, hopefully, you'll get the mood and help me correct it. Counting on you ;)

Every year, my town chooses a sacrifice for the demon that "watches over" our home. In exchange for a person from the village between the ages of 17 to 25, the demon protects our village. And because of that pact, our village is protected for the next year, under the demon's watchful eyes. No one knows what happens to those who the demon chooses, but there's a lot of theories about it. One is that the demon eats or absorbs those who are chosen - another, that it kills them. But this year, I'm the one who's chosen. I get to meet the demon I've feared since I was a child, and now that I'm 24, and am considered an adult, I could have left the village behind. But I didn't. Something inside me told me to stay. Now, I'm going to die. I just know it. I can't leave now, or run away, because the town would be unprotected for a whole year, and that's where my family lives. I don't know what to do, but I'm sure I'll think of something. Besides, how bad can this demon be if they're guarding our town?Complete

The Houses that protected them are crumbling, falling into ruin as their members were culled down by angels and demons, as well as their own mad quest to save the world; the Pilgrimage, a vain attempt to steal into Eden and murder God himself. Soon, only the Scions will remain. Those that were left not due to merit, but because they were the last choice for being heroes. Those whose memories and minds are as damaged and eaten through as their world. Those who agreed to take on the mysterious Archons within their bodies and, through that contract, had ancient relics and rituals passed down to them.
