*sequel to What My Wife Doesn't Know*

"What did I expect? There were other ways you could've broken up with me Elena. Like I don't know talking to me about it, marriage counseling. Hell you could've just divorced me and I would've been fine with that, but putting me in jail? I was fucking innocent and had no reason being in there. I don't care how in love you were with me, I didn't deserve that, no one deserves that."

They started in not-a-very-good condition, because Allison hated Ryan the first time she have met him. It was love at first fight. As time passes by, the two has been playing with destiny, and started to fall for each other. But, it was not a good fairytale story to tell. Things has been complicated with the two of them, and the truth has started to unravel. There was familiarity in their warmth like they had met when they were younger. It's like they had loved each other at a different moment. At a different world. "Nothing changed. You were still the jerk I once knew, Jace," Allison uttered with full of sarcasticity. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't help but to laugh at herself for letting him fool her again. "I have no intention of fooling nor hurting you, I swear. Hear me out this time, Allison, please?" Ryan pleaded. "There's no point of hearing your stupid explanations, Ryan. You know I only seek for truth, and now that I know the truth, I can't let myself be fooled by you again." She turned her back at him. She never imagined that they could be played by Cupid twice. Love isn't all about happy endings. Sometimes, it could be tragic. But it may be tragically beautiful. And while Allison is slowly walking away from the place where Ryan is standing, she have thought of something she could do to save herself this time. She would do the first move to avoid pain. She would do the only thing she could do to not be hurt by the same guy again. She'd leave for good. On Allison's seat, she was watching the plane to take its flight to her Aunt's neighborhood, but she have mumbled last two words, "Fuck love."

He doesn't know how much he's breaking my heart right now. "Trinity, I don't know how to show you how much sorry I am." He states, rubbing his face with his hand in frustration. "You can't, your 'sorry' doesn't changed what happened." I point to my face, where the bandage is. "This could have been prevented but you didn't even move a muscle to come and save me." "Trinity, if I did that it could have ruined my plans." He says, lowly. "It doesn't matter. If you truly love me like you say you do, you wouldn't have hesitated to come save me. I was so scared Aaron, I thought I was going to die." I respond, tears spilling before I can stop them. "I do love you Trin, I love you so fucking much." He states, clutching his shirt where his heart is. "Not like the way I love you Aaron. If you were in the position I was in, I wouldn't have fucking hesitated to come save you. I would die for you and you clearly wouldn't do the same." - Trinity's planner didn't originally have "falling in love with Aaron Florence" on it, but after a heated night and multiple dates, it became a daily thing. "Crap, sweetheart," Pat's voice was tinged with regret, even as he cupped her face with both hands and began to dust kisses on all the available skin he could find, "I didn't mean to make you cry." Helen sniffled, bringing her hands up to wrap her fingers around his wrists. "I don't think I'll ever deserve you," she confessed, "but I do love you." And how could she not? Pat was more than she could have ever hoped for in a partner. Pat's movements stilled, and he left his lips hovering just over her own. "We'll have to work on the first part of that statement," he mumbled. "The second part, however . . . well, I'm glad, sweetheart. I love you too." And she knew he truly did. *** Helen is proud to be a journalist; she's prouder still to be the writer of her city's favorite advice column. She is not proud, however, of her troubled past, or the fact that she can't get in a car without having a panic attack. And then she meets Pat, who is both a trustworthy chauffeur and one of the sweetest men she's ever known. Between finding new love, healing old wounds, and worrying about a recent murder, how's an advice columnist to cope? *** The rest of this story can be read for free on my website: ardewler.com (no account needed, since making accounts is bleh)
