Ashton, also known as 'Ash', is your average 17 year old girl, who goes to an average high school, has an average family and in all, an average life. 
The first time she bumps into a certain boy, Declan Grayson, changes all of that. 
Her average life turns upside down as 'the bad boy' drags her into unfortunate situations, making her risk her own life more times than she pleases. Trying to crawl her way out of the mess only makes the situation go from bad to worse.
Trapped in a world that wasn't meant for her makes her realize that what she wants is not always what she needs and more importantly, what she needs isn't always what she wants. 'Cause when it all comes crashing down, the only thing she needs is someone who will take a bullet for her.

Also, this book contains major character growth. These characters mature a lot from the first to second book so if you don't like them at first, you most likely will in the second book.
