"The Fandom"

A bunch of crazies, dressing up, singing about 'Gandalf's fireworks', being the only set of people who encourage eating several times a day, and swooning over girly men with pointed ears.

Sound familiar?

This is my, somewhat nostalgic, look at the Tolkien fandom and the *gasp* forbidden world of Fanfiction. It a celebration, and not a rant. It is by no means a catalogue of my opinions, nor is it a list of "pet peeves" or "Do's & Do nots," of entering into the fellowship of Fanficer's - oh lawd that sounds wrong - ahem of fanfiction writers and readers.

It is. mostly appreciation memoirs, and...well...if you do decide to pass through;

"Tea's at four, everyone is welcome, don't bother knocking."

LOTR: The problems with Thursday - Merry Brandybuck FF by Ellie_davbot
23 parts Complete
You all know Merry Brandybuck yes? The hobbit who fell down the hill and landed on a carrot, Who joined the fellowship, who helped the Ents over run Isengard, Who became an esquire of Rohan? yeah that guy. Well this is a story involving him. It takes place just before they set out on their adventure to destroy the one ring and save middle earth. But this isn't just about Merry. There's another who you won't have heard of. Alora Headstrong is a young hobbit of the shire, Bywater to be more precise. She is the height of 3ft 6" and has short chocolate brown hair which is always curled perfectly. Her eyes are a deep blue/green colour and she is quite smart as you would say. Anyway, this is the story of how she find a new friend (Merry) while disobeying her father, over comes most of her fears and maybe, just maybe, finds the guy of her dreams. After meeting Merry 18 years prior, and then being forbidden from leaving the house on her own, Alora is given permission from her father to go to a party at the Green Dragon Inn. There she spots somebody who looks strangely familiar... After becoming friends, she soon finds herself falling for a guy. But two things stand in their way. Alora's Father and a bit of competition. This is the story of one of your favorite hobbit's crazy love life in the months before he becomes a hero. slight All Time Low hints in this :L just words that relate to a particular song thought. simply because i'm that cool guys! BTW I don't own any of the songs in this, don't hate me :L
What Happened Thereafter {A LotR Fanfiction} by CrimsonSparks
26 parts Complete
After returning to the Shire from their long and life-changing journey, the four famous Hobbits must learn to live again, as they did once before. But it is a difficult thing, to go back to an old life, and the four hobbits soon realize that no matter how hard they try, they will never be the same again. This is What Happened Thereafter. "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand, there is no going back?" [IN EDITING 2024] ---- Review, by @passerbyarmy99: "What Happened Thereafter" by the incredibly talented and sweet @CrimsonSparks is a story completely, undeniably worth reading. While she keeps the feel that Tolkien gave us in the books as well as stays true to the ending that he originally wrote, she adds her own twist and voice with the addition of her four female hobbits: Daffodil, Ivy, Nettle, and Thorn. Each girl is so different from the next, complete with their own lovable quirks and characteristics that makes the reader adore them instantly for who they are as individuals as well as a whole. The unity that she presents between the characters is so unbreakable and true that I literally feel like I'm melting with adoration as I'm reading.The writing is fantastic and the story-line enjoyable. Every time I see that she's updated, I squeal and smile and read it immediately because I cannot wait to see what she has to give her readers next. I find myself sucked into it, and when it's over, I'm dying for more, more, more! It is a brilliant, adorable, enchanting story that I would recommend for any Tolkienite/Ringer. You won't be disappointed!
Queen Naehlara (LOTR, Legolas love story) by ardenswriting
50 parts Complete Mature
In a bed chamber high in the trees of Lothlorien is a young she-elf is sound asleep. "She will wake soon if Mithrandir is to proceed with his quest to Erebor. The darkness will grow, and she will awaken to fight it, like she did long ago." Galadriel says, turning to her husband and taking his hand. The she-elf is not as young as she seems, she had nearly faded when Galadriel found her at the beginning of the second age. The elf never woke, but the Lady of Light has foreseen it; Naehlara will awaken to help lead the elves, men and all free folk to peace, for she is the High Queen of the elves. The only living elf from the first age. Her fae grows stronger with every year bringing her closer to awakening. Galadriel once was friends with the elf, her father Thingol; king of Doriath before it was abandoned and forgotten as the first age elves left Middle Earth to go back to Valanor or faded with time. "I have longed to see my friend reawaken but how do you explain to one that nearly two ages has passed since she fell into slumber." Galadriel says, a small smile growing on her face. "She was a mighty warrior, the best in all of Middle Earth. But she was stubborn, not as wise as most elves. A lot more like our Woodland kin, the ones in Greenwood." Galadriel says, a laugh slipping through her lips as she remembers watching Naehlara fight in the wars long ago. How she'd argue with anyone that stood in her way, nearly taking the head off the captain of the guard when he would not head her warning of the armies coming from Morgoth. ✨NOT A HOBBIT FANFIC IT IS SET DURING LORD OF THE RINGS✨ A/N I do not own any character other than Naehlara and maybe more if I choose to add more. But probably just Naehlara. I'm newer to the fandom so please let me know if i got any facts wrong. I hope you enjoy the story Also maybe be slow updates due to work but I hope to put out consistently!

3 women expectantly find themselves in a world they read about in books. They end up helping a company of 13 dwarves and a wizard along with their new friend and father figure, Bilbo Baggins. These women all feel connected to middle earth and don't know why. They each have secrets that they keep from the rest in hopes of them finding out the truth about who they are and why they feel more at home. They all happen to find their real family but one of them learns a powerful secret about them. What is even more complicated is that they fall in love and try to run away because they know that they wont be staying long yet a part of them wants to know what will happen if they give in to their feelings? How will they handle what they are and What will they choose? Will they fight for what they want or will they run away, hurting themselves and the ones they love? This is a fanfic. All of the credit goes to JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson. I don't own anything except Renee, Katherine and Lilith. Also this is my first fanfic so bare with me.
