This story is about a girl( Tasha) who is growing up in an abusive home, and her journey to get away from it all. Her father died when she was 15 now she lives with her mother and step-father. Her step father has an alcohol and drug problem. The mother ( Denice) doesn't want to see that her husband ( John) has a problem so she is living in a world where her husband is perfect. Tasha is beginning to draw farther and farther away from her mother because of this. Tasha is on her way to moving out and going away to college her mom is more than proud of her but her step-father doesn't want her to leave. So her seduces her one day at a time until she is all messed up that she doesn't know if she wants to go to school anymore. But on this painful journey she meets a boy named Royce and he changes her life.
