Elizabeth Cane and Jasper Rhodes have been best friends for as long as they can remember. When Elizabeth's parents divorced, Jasper was the only one to find her in her room crying. Once they got older of course Liz adopted feelings toward him. But never as much as she does now. Her mother died in a car crash last year and Jasper has been off with his new girlfriend. She's left by herself most of the time. Until one day Jasper comes to the door.......
"I Hate you." I say tears forming on my face. He walks in the house slowly and I can see the hurt in his eyes. "I love you Liz, I'm sorry I was gone for so long." I start crying and he comes over and hugs me close to him. "I'm not going anywhere I promise." He slowly whispers in my hair.

She wanted to ask him--which question, there were so many he had asked her tonight. Each one threatening in their own different ways to her sanity. Brandan smiled mysteriously.
