FATE (The chronicle of Purified Flames, book 1)

What happens when all you've got isn't all you were ever given? But I guess life was fair, a tough life needed a tough person and Val was perfect for the job. Her mother had tried so hard to stop Val from unlocking one door of mystery because once you do, you can't go back. But trust Val to do what she shouldn't.

Valerie had a way of knowing when boys where trouble.
1) they underestimated
"I've never met someone strong with an easy past," He spoke casually, no hint of sarcasm or joke in his tone.
"Well you haven't met me." Val answered, staring at the deep blue lake.
2) they flirted
"Can I? we could go for a walk?" Val would have considered it a friendly offer, if not for the fact that he was inching closer on the bench.
Val let out a wisp of breath, this was so predictable; it almost made her laugh. It's like he read teenage books and practiced acting on her. "Or..." She faced the boy and slowly spoke, enunciating each word, "I could tell you're brother that you kissed his girlfriend."
3) they get shocked and defend
No words left his agape mouth, but it closed and opened profoundlesly, as he furrowed his eyebrows. He suddenly shot up and tightly griped Val's arms. As painful as it was, Val swiftly twisted her arm so that she was holding him now, "If you ever, I mean ever, do that again, I will rip you're shallow heart out myself. Keep. your hands. Off."
But in the end what mattered was Val, and only Val. Little did she know that wouldn't be for long.
