I was 12 years old when I fled my hometown - not because I wanted to be rebellious, or because I didn't care about anyone I loved, it's because I was - or am, immortal. Being unable to die is a rare thing, and most people are frightened by it. So if I spoke once about it, or someone happened to find out, I would either be held captive in a cruel institution where the rest of the immortals are at, or I would be murdered brutally until I am truly dead forever.
