Government officials are trying to track down individuals who possess "the endurance chromosome" which enhances their basic survival instincts. They have a better quality of physical health and physical body strength as well as the increased ability to overcome obstacles. Individuals who possess this gene are known as "The Persistent" - they are a danger to the order and control that stems from the governments influence and they must be destroyed, whatever the cost.

At a routine doctor's appointment, Cassidy Stark is asked to provide a blood sample to conduct further tests after an abnormal heart rate reading - when the doctor tells her to get out of the city as fast as she can, she dismisses his warning but she soon discovers that her government are hunting down those with a very rare genetic make-up. When the police arrive at her school one morning, claiming that they have reason to believe she is connected to an attempted hit and run, she knows that she is being hunted and that she must run. On her way to safety, she meets Jason, who also possesses the endurance chromosome. He offers to help her reach a safer part of the country where she will be hidden from those tracking her down. Can she use her newly discovered genetic advantage to outsmart those who wish to be in complete control?

WARNING: Smoking, violence, and killing are included in this story. Not intended for a young audience. It's 2075, and currently 11 billion people walk the surface of this planet. Out of that number, my hometown Chantless takes up 64,730. Out of that, one of them is me. A few years ago, the government finally realized they needed to do something about our population. So they decided to make a game out of it. They call it "Do You Have Talent?" They say it's a game show that puts people's abilities and talents to the test. To see if they are worth keeping alive. So far, I've lost my father, my friend, and my brother to this little "game". And I may be next. But I won't let that happen. For I have a trick up my sleeve in my own game. ----------- Jasmine is a 16-almost-17 year old girl living in Chantless, a poor town located close to the ocean. She seems like an ordinary girl, struggling to survive with little food, contaminated water, and a stub of a hand every day, but she has a secret no one else knows. Unexpectedly, she is chosen to participate in "Do You Have Talent?"; a wicked and ruthless game show created by the government to handle overpopulation. She meets Liz and Bryan, two other contestants who have also lost family members from this heartless monstrosity. Jasmine befriends them, and finally she has something to lose in her life. But when time starts to run out, she will be forced to make a decision; save her friends, or continue to keep her power a secret?

31 parts Complete

It was just a normal day for Hazel Roberts and Leo Esteban. They thought they would go to school, take a huge history test that neither of them were prepared for, then go home and text each other for the rest of the afternoon. Typical teenager's day, right? Well on one particular day, the two best friends experienced something that would change their lives. A bomb explodes inside of their school while Hazel and Leo were still inside. They should have died from the impact, but something caused them to survive. The reaction of the explosion caused the two of them to develop powerful mutations that give them amazing abilities. Soon those abilities are put to the test when they have to fight for their lives. There are more mutants, like Hazel and Leo, around the world who are considered illegal in the cruel new society of humans who hate people who aren't normal. Every mutant in the world has to rebel against the "Normals" and make things right in the world. Hazel and Leo are two teenagers who will do anything to make things right again, and yearn for that "typical teenager day" again.
