pentatonix live in the post-apocalyptic society in chicago where each person must make a life-changing decision at the young age of sixteen. as avriel, kirstin, mitchell, scott, and kevin all begin lives in their newly chosen factions, they must face not only the many challenges regarding friendships, relationships, sexuality, and rivalry, but the challenges of Initiation and adjusting to new expectations and rules. 

what will these strangers face and what relationships will they build? will some become well-known rivals or lovers? will they make drastic decisions that could possibly change not only their futures, but the futures of the factions and their society?
