Mae is loosing her family and her loved ones; all from the stupid society. Why did they ban dogs? Why are their curfews? Why  is the Faroile disease killing everyone and why do they do nothing to stop it? 
Mae has a lot on her plate but for now she only has 3 rules
1. Don't die. 
2. Don't be scared. 
And most important:
3. Don't kill. 
Mae reunites with her friends on the way... The Friends she has left anyway. But Mae has to choose which ones are her friends and which one is more then a friend. And there are lots of secrets along the way she needs to uncover. And one of them is the key to living.
