Pearl is a quiet distant ballerina who never seems to be happy. That is, until she meets Sandy, the new girl next door who makes the world her own and is positive about everything. The two soon become best friends. Sandy is a free spirited girl who is always looking for adventure. But then everything isn't so great when the two start high school. Sandy is a target of bullying and doesn't know how to handle it. Pearl has her back no matter what...until senior year when Pearl was absent from school. Sandy doesn't know what to do...but take her own life.
Pearl is lost between hatred and sadness not knowing what to do without her plus one. It's like a plane trying to fly without wings... Going back to school would be extremely hard especially since the bullies didn't get anything done to them, until Pearl meets handsome, mysterious boy named Ray, who seems to be mesmerized by Pearl. Pearl is trying to keep her distance until graduation so she doesn't have to be bothered with the people of Monroe High School. But a little voice in Pearls head sounds familiar saying, "Just wait Pearl...I promise...just Wait For The Sun To Rise."
