While the planet is being terraformed, the future population of the colony lives on a massive ring station built around the planet. On the far edge of the galaxy lies Acies, the most recent colony project of the powerful Eftai corporation. Terrine Zafas was born and raised on Initium Station, which surrounds Acies, and has lived there her whole life. When the engineering firm where she works is tasked with a vague and unusual assignment, Terrine is suspicious about the goals and motives of Initium's planetary operations organization.
