Elaine Archer didn’t always know she was different, not until her accident in sixth grade. A fall that should have killed her left her with nothing, not even a scar to flaunt as proof of her fall. From that moment on, she kept the secret even from her own family; the secret that she couldn’t be hurt by any ordinary means. Blades cut through her skin, fire burned her flesh, but her skin would simply mend itself as if it had a mind of it’s own. One day, she sees three people who, unknowingly to her, all possess gifts, like her. After days of stakeout, they succeed in kidnapping Elaine and take her away to work for them. In a world where no one can be trusted, how will she survive?

He taunts; his voice filled with every ounce of persuasion. It’s like he’s dangling an apple in front of my eyes, an apple with all the answers and he’s just waiting for me to reach out and take it. 'I can tell you.' He whispers inside my head; taunting and teasing even more. ____________________ Bethany Cooper lived in the small town of Prince George with her mother and father but wasn't a happy little family. Evelyn clutched a worn photograph, its edges softened with time. The image depicted a younger, smiling version of her father, his arm slung around a woman with warm eyes. A pang of longing shot through her. She barely remembered him, just a collection of stories and a void that echoed in her heart. Newspapers, yellowed with age, lay scattered on the table beside her. Headlines screamed of a mysterious organization, their involvement in a series of unsolved disappearances, including her father's. The police investigation had gone cold, leaving Evelyn with a relentless thirst for answers. A determined glint entered her eyes. She wouldn't let her father's memory fade. She would find the truth, no matter the cost. Across town, in a dimly lit room, Ace received his orders. His mission: infiltrate the inner circle of a powerful organization rumored to operate in the shadows. The target? Evelyn, the daughter of a man who had crossed paths with the organization years ago. Ace wasn't new to undercover work, but this mission felt different. A flicker of unease sparked within him as he studied Evelyn's file - a young woman with inquisitive eyes and a fierce spirit. He knew he shouldn't get attached, but something about her drew him in. As fate would weave its intricate web, Evelyn and Ace's paths were destined to collide.
