Toby is still a kid at heart, even if his heart belongs to someone else. The man who owns it though didn't know at first, but over time he sees it in every glance and hears it in every giggle.
Masky was, to say the least, hesitant at first. Worried of rejection, or simply offending the other and making their job simply awkward, kept him silent for the months he held war within his head about it.
But to make a rainbow, you need a little rain and some sunlight. And to be happy, you need to be able to uphold responsibility but also have fun. So it only seems natural Toby and Masky would attract like opposing ends of a magnet, balancing each other out rather well.
