Esta história é sobre uma menina de 11 anos chamada Constança que vai frequentar a melhor escola do país. O Liceu mais conceituado de Portugal em Lisboa. 
Se ela fosse "normal" iria agora para o 7ºano pois o seu aniversário está para breve. Mas Constança não é como as crianças da sua idade. 
Na sua antiga escola em Setúbal ela fazia os trabalhos de casa aos mais velhos que andavam no 9ºano. E com isso sempre ganhava algumas coisas, bilhetes para festivais de verão, dinheiro, mas isso nunca a entusiasmou, afinal o que ela haveria de fazer com isso tendo apenas 10 anos na altura?
Logo todos perceberam que Constança tinha capacidades que nenhuma pessoa da sua escola tinha. Os seus pais querem que ela ainda desenvolva mais os seus conhecimentos, tendo-a mudado de escola no começo do 2ºperíodo.
Ela foi posta numa turma de 9ºano com colegas que tinham chumbado já umas vezes. Mas ela não queria saber dos colegas. Afinal, ela iria ter aulas com os melhores professores e poder aprender mais. 
A turma 9ºE é pequena. Temos a Miguelina Santos (15 anos) a mais popular do seu ano a única que têm namorado, Miguel Cardoso que se encontra no 12ºano (17 anos). O Joaquim Matos (16 anos) está a repetir o ano e a preparar-se para repetir outra vez. O Marco Nunes (14 anos) e Manuel Silva (15 anos) passam as aulas e os intervalos com as bolas de futebol e de basquetebol, eles e o Joaquim são os rapazes do desporto da turma. A Mónica Santos (14 anos) melhor amiga da Miguelina. Maria Martins (15 anos) sonha ocupar o lugar de Mónica e anda sempre atrás de Miguelina. Lourenço Freitas (16 anos) melhor amigo do Joaquim. 
São estes que fazem a turma 9ºE ser a turma 9ºE e ser bastante falada pela escola.
