The world has been in turmoil ever since the war.

Each region had seen a domestic terrorist organization plague its people, but never before had seven teams worked together to cause mass destruction. After years of pain and loss on both sides, the war ended, leaving behind a warped land and a scared people. In order to restore order and ensure that no group of people could ever rise to power again, the strongest trainers from what used to be the six known regions of the Pokemon world banded together and led the people to eighteen different cities in what would be called the Amare Region. The people would be separated by the types of Pokemon that they were training, and new trainers would be tested to determine which village they'd live and train in.

It's been twenty years since the end of the war. A fresh batch of students are being tested. All seems peaceful, until a series of strange events occur during the exams. Have the domestic terrorists regrouped? Is the missing Battle Frontier Brain in their custody? Are there any trainers who are powerful enough to stop them?

"There are Pokémon that wish to do good...and there are those who desire harm. The line between the two is often blurred and sometimes, it is only by great sacrifice that one can ever truly see the difference." ༒︎༒︎༒︎ Six months have passed since the incident with Team Flare that left all of Lumoise City in disrepair. It hasn't been an easy journey, but the residents of the region have proven once again that they are stronger than their weaknesses. They have rebuilt and everything seems to be going right once more. Until one gym leader begins to have these...dreams. Dreams that aren't really dreams. Visions of a different time and a different life altogether. At about the same time, earthquakes begin to rip across the region, having no explainable source or epicenter. They appear to be caused by some kind of unnatural being. And this is all extraordinary timing for our heroes to converge on the city for a brief competition; featuring some of the greatest competitors from around the world. Naturally, that includes one particular trainer and performer. Now, armed with their friendship and very little knowledge of what they are up against, our group of heroic friends must journey into the heart of the conflict, put right one of the region's greatest mysteries, and maybe even save the world in the process. ༒︎༒︎༒︎ (This is a fanfiction based on Pokemon XYZ. Ya'll know the drill. I have no right to anything more than the two-ish pokemon I created back when I was 12. I also did not make the cover).

This book is part of a series. If you have not read the other books, then you won't understand what's going on here at ALL. Please go read 'Not Everyone is a Steal-Type' then 'Take an Extra Step, GOH the Extra Mile (The Prologue)' Before continuing. Both can be found on this account. (There's also a reading list dedicated to this series.) __________ Ash failed to save the world alongside Goh and even lost his existence in the process... OR SO HE THOUGHT! Thanks to knowledge from a girl who calls herself Yuki Kazeko, he can prepare for the final encounter with the Evil Professor Ceries in the future. (Alongside her, of course! They're both fighting for their own respective worlds.) You would think this would be an easy task for one who came from the world that CREATED Pokemon and loves them with all her heart, right? Sorry to say, but a change in reality isn't as easy as 1, 2, 3. Yuki is afraid of what Pokémon are capable of. From being able to cause fires just by breathing or cause someone to become poisoned just by being touched... that isn't something she's used to. That, alongside her own difficult life challenges she faced just adds on to her fears. With one of the most important pieces to saving the world not being anywhere close to emotionally functioning in the amazing world of Pokémon, a Personal Trial and a Special Grand Trial has been created to help her overcome those fears once and for all! Alongside the world's Chosen One: Ash Ketchum, and the many People and Pokémon who remember the events before the world was cut from the main timeline, Yuki takes on the challenge! It's time to take a step forward into a world filled with many similarities and differences: The World of Pokémon! ___ Book Cover Updated: 3/4/2023 (Mostly to express that it's no longer a betrayal series + cleaner/simpler design)
The Journey of A Champion: A Pokemon Fanfic by MoonCrane098

Unova, a region where hundreds of Pokemon are still undiscovered and a year before the immoral Team Plasma threatened the peace. Due to the Hero and his friends' valiant efforts the evil organization was disbanded; members scattered across Unova. Now, Professor Juniper has come back from her journey of assisting the new champion to an eager young girl, one whose Pokemon journey was put off for years by the events, Riley. And the minute the professor returns she's out the door. As her journey begins, Riley meets a young boy who's labeled himself as a failure, but refuses to accept her help or convenience her with respect. They reluctantly travel together and Riley becomes aware of a name being used to refer to her: Champion, though she hasn't won any gym badges or done anything special. Meanwhile, in the shadows, Team Plasma reorganizes, gaining strength under corrupt Sages and officers and led by Ghetsis. The team preaches a new direction, but the same motives added to a more "direct" and violent approach. It searches for objects it's lost and powerful members who've fled; all the while planning a destructive and unstoppable endgame, eventually crossing paths with Riley. The new trainer sees Team Plasma's vile actions and builds up a hatred for it, becoming determined to stop them whenever they meet while continuing THE JOURNEY OF A CHAMPION. Art used for the cover was created by Xous54 on deviantart and the Pokemon company. I do not own it and all credit for its creation goes to them. Also the creation of Pokemon and all rights to it go to Pokemon. I do not own Pokemon.

A 10-year-old boy, with a goal to become a Pokemon Champion, sets out on a journey across the Kanto Region. A journey charged with friendships, fun, and battles. Team Rocket, a criminal organization with disastrous plans is hiding mind-blowing secrets. Buckle up, cause it's going to be one hell of an adventure! Frequently Asked Questions: Q - What's special about this fanfiction? A - The books have an architectured story, from mysteries to time travel. From being awfully childish to brutally mature. Also, the protagonist ages. Q - Who are the Main Protagonists and the rivals? A - Red, a character from the Pokemon Video Games is the main protagonist along with his best friend Leaf. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. You get to see a different version of Ash Ketchum (close to how he has been depicted in the anime) in 2 chapters of this book. Q - Is Team Rocket the same as in the anime? A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime. Team Rocket is darker than in any previous versions and has a purpose and a plan other than stealing. Giovanni's plan plays out slowly in the course of three books. Q - It has time travel? A - It does, time travel is hinted at in the first book with the actual "time traveling" in the second book. Q - "I hope the protagonist has a father, hahaha" A - Yes, he does. The character mostly appears in flashbacks but is an important character.

Book 1. The Drucan Region has a murky history of being a region where war and criminals have thrived. Some people would say they still do, just not as openly as they had in the past, due to old beliefs of their ancestors' loyalty to their side in the war. However, peace has reigned over the region for some time and that war is only a distant memory, a history lesson passed down through time. And now, like always, it is time for a group of new trainers to start out on their journey to collect badges and fight to become the champion of Drucan and the third most powerful person next to the King and Queen. Together they will find their own paths to go down and grow in their abilities. However, there is a known criminal organization on the move going by the name Valhalla. What can a group of new trainers ever hope to do against a threat on their very lives after they witness an attempted murder on a gym leader, and prince, of Drucan? Paths will cross and paths will intertwine with new friends and new enemies; will they be able to survive or will they be too weak to fight back from the hands of fate they have been dealt? All they wanted was to reach their dreams... All they can do is try to make it... All they will do is get closer to their now unclear destinies. (Please note I don't own Pokemon but the Drucan region and the characters in the book are all MY original creation!)
