No one is free from despair. Try as they might to change things, it will prove overbearingly difficult and could tear them a part for good.

Sunglasses cost hundreds of dollars and "bags" were thousands. Everything had a label that said you spent a lot of money. People went crazy buying another house, a boat, a Hummer (at 10 miles to the gallon). I distinctly remember two couples, in their late 30s, who were shopping together in Toys R Us. They had a video camera and were discussing the "rules" to this shopping trip. The rules were they had to look into the camera and say what they were buying, for who and why. And the carts had to be overflowing with toys. It was as if they had dreamed their entire lives of doing a "who cares how much it costs" shopping spree at Toys R Us for their children. Just recklessly spending on a bunch of STUFF. That was 2007. And then came 2008. But, more disturbing to me, was the impact it had on families. I think moms and dads lost themselves in providing stuff for their kids and not giving their kids time. And I saw the kids suffer because of it. So, I did a little research and a lot of observing and I wrote a mostly fictional story about an upper-middle class family in the OC. It explores (it simple terms) what was going on in the economy and what teenagers really want from their parents...

With the help of one girl and her best friend. A little bright blue hedgehog girl named Janice and a bright red echidna named Cassie. Things were plain but Sonic was still broken but he was hateful towards those who hurt him in the past. He changed his appearance and moved far away to a little bit old London (a little modern) style town selling good medicine for the people and working for the psychiatrist. When people (Knuckles, his family, and friends) from his past 'somehow found him' come to make things right, Sonic turns them away. Will Sonic give them a chance? Or will he just hate them for everything they did in the past?

You were already set back so much from Maverick and the hatred you had towards him, was something I didn't want. If I held you back then you would have hated me too," a few tears rolled down her face as she looked at his shoes. She couldn't bare to look up at him. He shook his head as he exhaled out trying to calm down. "But I would have never hated you. I can't hate you. It bothers me that I haven't been able to hate you for walking out on me... and then you have to hide with all the pain... I just wished you told me," he told her and took a step closer. She had looked up at him and her heart shattered even more. The whole group was there watching there fight but didn't even have words for any of it. Phoenix was the only one who knew about everything. The kids, her sister, her parents, all of it. Pheonix had watched her break down over and over and over, but she didn't realize how much it might have hurt her to see the one person she had loved her whole life. "I'm sorry, Bradley but I have to go," she turned around and passed the whole group. She didn't bare to change in the lockers but headed straight to her car.
