Though Hiriki and Endo's relationship has finally taken a turn for the simpler, Hiriki begins to doubt Endo's liking towards him after seeing how understanding he reacts to Verde, barely someone Endo respects as an individual. Strained by his own suspicion, Hiriki becomes aloof in all regards as he slips farther and farther away from even friendship. As Endo grows enraged instead of understanding, the turmoil between them grow. When the suppressed tension surfaces, the object in question becomes a true trial for both Endo's feelings and his willingness to resist his hapless pride.
