Five years ago, a mass murderer was captured. No one knows how. The arresting officer was killed, and there were no other witnesses, but one.
In Alice Springs, in an undisclosed location, there's an insane asylum. Two little girls are being held there, they look the same. Identical in almost every way. Except one. One of these little girls is a murderer. One is a witness. The only problem? They can't remember which is which. It's been five years, and these little girls are about to turn 17.
