She didn't understand why until her friend, Hermione, which was her best friend even before Hogwarts, told her that her past couldn't have been as it would have seemed to be. Now, with Aquila making friends, facing her fears, making enemies, and even going to quests along with the gang, she has one thing she has to face before finding out who she really is. But the only problem is what she is. What exactly did happen? Why were secrets kept from her? And why is Draco such a pain in the arse?! Well, there's only one way to find out why. And that only thing is to keep on trying. Because one day, you may never remember it again. It would be complete and utter nonsense to even know if it was true. As the secrets and mysteries pile up around her while her past threatens to expose itself, Aurora will have to overcome insurmountable odds and decide who she can trust as her life hangs in the balance. After all, sometimes things aren't about doing the right thing, but doing what needs to be done. This story takes place during the events of The Goblet of Fire. Soulmate AU with a bit of a twist, since happy endings don't necessarily last forever. Note: This is a rough draft, and the first round of editing changed the POV from first to third person.
