In the lands of Averos, a street orphan named Zek is pulled into a world he never new existed outside the town of Feild's Meadow where he and his friends have to steal just to eat. And it all begins when he discovers that he not only has magic, but has an obscene amount of it and is changed forever.
On his journey, Zek comes across people of all kinds both good and dastardly who have plans of their own for him as they learn of just how much power resides with in him. While all he wants to is to learn to control he never asked for and to change himself back... if he still can.
John Steelbane is the first son in a long line of heroes who's family has been serving as the right hand of the emperor for hundreds of generations as Mage hunters. Anytime someone looses them selves to their greed for more power they become a threat to the empire. But the Steelbane family has always been the ones to keep the piece and put an end to these rogue Mages before they get anyone hurt... or worse. And John is the next in line to take up the mantle of the commander of the High Guard, the defenders of the people and personal guard to the Emperor himself. Can he live up to the expectations or will he be crushed by them.

After a nuclear war nearly in 2150 the whole Earth has become uninhabitable for humans. There are some major cities which are still running but have very scarce resources such as food, water and oil. There are tall, thick walls protecting people from the outside world, surrounding the whole city and there is a ceiling, blocking the radiation from seeping in as air is filtered through the roof. The year is now 2205 which is the beginning for Earth to become how it was before. There are a group of people called The Warriors who go out and try to look for resources, facing death daily. A seventeen year old boy tries to steal food for his friend, he gets caught and is sentenced to death. The only way he could get out is if he joined The Warriors to search for a mythical jungle which is rumored to be flourishing in food and water. The journey is going to be very dangerous and death can come at any corner. There are bandit clans, somehow surviving outside of the walls and new types of animals unseen from humans that they didn't know existed. He will meet new friends, make some enemies and will be manipulated to do some really idiotic things, will he survive the journey and become a hero? Or will he die anyway?Complete
