Dancing in Darkness

In the lands of Averos, a street orphan named Zek is pulled into a world he never new existed outside the town of Feild's Meadow where he and his friends have to steal just to eat. And it all begins when he discovers that he not only has magic, but has an obscene amount of it and is changed forever.
On his journey, Zek comes across people of all kinds both good and dastardly who have plans of their own for him as they learn of just how much power resides with in him. While all he wants to is to learn to control he never asked for and to change himself back... if he still can.

John Steelbane is the first son in a long line of heroes who's family has been serving as the right hand of the emperor for hundreds of generations as Mage hunters. Anytime someone looses them selves to their greed for more power they become a threat to the empire. But the Steelbane family has always been the ones to keep the piece and put an end to these rogue Mages before they get anyone hurt... or worse. And John is the next in line to take up the mantle of the commander of the High Guard, the defenders of the people and personal guard to the Emperor himself.
